Con un golpe de escena de último momento, el Rally TransItapúa 2019 modificó sus posiciones al tope del clasificador a pocos kilómetros de la llegada. En el especial 11 de 13, el líder desde el principio, Alejandro Galanti, perdió casi 40 segundos en una curva a la izquierda en la que el motor de su Toyota Etios R5 se detuvo como consecuencia de una falla de la bomba de combustible y el tiempo que se fue jamás volvió, delegándole la victoria al Hyundai i20 de Diego Domínguez y Edgardo y Galindo.
Mientras que Galanti se perdió la posibilidad de anotarse el que hubiera sido su octavo triunfo en la prueba con epicentro en Encarnación, el piloto del auto coreano arrancó el año a nivel nacional con el máximo de puntos y, además, adjudicándose su segundo éxito absoluto consecutivo tras aquel de marzo en Misiones (Argentina), esta vez en 1h41m27.6s (8.4s menos que el de su rival más inmediato).
Completando un podio más que interesante que mostró a tres marcas distintas en él, Augusto Bestard y Héctor Nunes hicieron gala de un muy buen ritmo a lo largo de todo el evento sureño y se quedaron con un valioso tercer puesto a bordo de su Ford Fiesta a 1m52.7s.
Ayer, sin saber que contaba con la posibilidad de reparar la suspensión trasera rota tan tempranamente, Gustavo Saba se reenganchó y llevó al Volkswagen Polo GTI al primer lugar en esta etapa de domingo, comprobando que el producto teutón, pese a sus problemas de juventud, es capaz de obtener tiempos de vanguardia.
En una producción más que interesante considerando su escasa experiencia a bordo de coches R5, el joven Juan Martín Masi llegó cuarto dentro del Campeonato Paraguayo, navegado por Fabrizio Chiriani y a los mandos de otro Ford. Su labor le valió ser el más eficaz de la división RC2.
A Masi lo siguieron el mejor de los Polo debutantes en este país, el conducido por Miguel Zaldívar (h) junto a Hernán Vargas Peña, y los Škoda Fabia de Jorge García y Pedro Fadul.
Siendo la prueba también válida por el certamen del sur continental, entre los diez mejores de la clasificación general se metieron tripulaciones de otras nacionalidades, como por ejemplo Roberto Saba con Fabia (Bolivia, cuarto), Augusto D’Agostini con Gol Maxi Rally (Argentina, noveno) y Eduardo Peredo con Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X (Bolivia, décimo).
Con otro de esos Lancer, César Martínez (h) se adjudicó la clase RC2N Pro, escoltado por Ricardo Escauriza. César Pedotti ganó la RC2N con un Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII que llegó solitario a la rampa.
A bordo del mejor vehículo de tracción simple situado 13° absoluto, Diego Domínguez (h) volvió a imponerse en RC4 Pro sobre su Peugeot 208 R2, mientras que Rodolfo Winneker y Jorge Arrúa sacó buen partido de su Honda en RC4. Diego Elizeche y Christian Ramos llevaron al tope de la RC3 a un Honda Civic Si. Sebastián Lafarja prevaleció en RC3 Pro al volante de un Civic Type R.
Nicolás Baeza dominó el TransItapúa durante ambas jornadas en RC5 con su Gol y Arnaldo Duarte se alzó con lo mejor en RC4L utilizando un Toyota Vitz.
La próxima fecha será el Rally del Guairá del 10 al 12 de mayo.
